Legacy Living-- A Hero's Life

>> Saturday, July 25, 2009

By Genesis Mellon

Captain Hero serves me a cup of “joe” with a warm smile. “That’s what keeps us going around here,” he tells me in a low husky voice. “Here” is our local little police station which has lately had to deal with larger problems than one would face in such a small community.

“You rely on coffee? You’re a superhero aren’t you?”

“There is no ‘I’ in hero, ma'am. And I couldn't do it without those guys there." He motions towards the front office where Orlando Centowski sits working on the latest paperwork from the latest catch.

Roxanne Prema, a known player in the Boot Trade, was captured with the help of Captain Hero. When asked he is quick to add in that it "couldn't have been done without the Orlandos."

Prema is currently in a holding cell that was made to hold sims for offenses such as kicking over trash cans or littering. But the boot trade has necessitated a change in the way our small police force operates.

"It's becoming a big issue," Captain Hero says. "Right now it seems to only be a few who are using, but all we need is for it to spread to the children. Stuff like that can ruin a whole generation."

The Mayor and the police are scrambling to scrape together a judicial system for the worst offenders. "The most important thing," the mayor said recently at a speech at the City Center, "is that the public knows we are doing our best. The last thing we want is for an innocent sim to
be locked up. So it is important that we are transparent so that the public may decide the guilt of the accused."

There is currently no trial date set for Prema. Until the new system is in place, Prema is being held in the standard loc
k up.

You'll have to humor me on the boot trade. I don't have it up and running yet, though I've been thinking about it. But the major player in the boot trade is still in school and can't own a community lot in the city. (He's supposed to be far away at college. Can't just drive in.) Does anyone know of a hack to own a community lot on Uni property?

So what is the boot trade? Well, you know those boots that sims fish out and can turn into juice? Yup. That's The Boot. Highly addictive since the effects last for such a short while. I'm sure it's easy to loose oneself to it. Much stronger than the bubble blower.

Water Mellon Down to Business

>> Tuesday, June 17, 2008

These events take place before Tierra De Legado.

Water was recently featured in Legacy Living's very first article about the local businesses.

He has been busy!

It all started with the chocolate shop. Water made gourmet candies for a company before he became a celebrity chef. As he was working, he came up with his own delicious ideas involving exotic flavors he'd picked up from his travels. So he thought, "why not?"

The paintings are painted by Water and his father, Alec, who runs a gallery. Water wanted his shop to look good and be inviting. So he leaves out the nectar juice for guests to enjoy.

Women flock to the shop to visit personally with Water. It's all about the show. Nevermind that one small box of chocolates costs $500 and the larger one is $1,000. For the way he makes the ladies feel, it is well worth it.

Water is indeed a romance sim. But he has selected his one, Demi Love. She doesn't help him at the chocolate shop (for good reason!), so that's supposedly why she wasn't mentioned in the article about Water.

Demi loves Water greatly, but although she had promised to help him in his next venture, she found she couldn't. Doctor's orders. She was pregnant!

Water wanted better than the little hole in the wall they were living, so he bought a little shop and turned it into "Water's Gourmet Diner."

It has a homey feel, but you can go and get some really fancy stuff for a pretty reasonable price. Plus, in what other fancy restaurant do you get to meet the chef? Water doesn't want anything between himself and the customers. He wants them to see exactly what kind of kitchen he runs.

To help supplement his earnings, Water sells his famous pies now at the front. It doesn't deter sims from eating there though.

Water has done really well. He started off with nothing, and he's continually won the Best of the Best Award. Thanks to all the cash he's raking in, Water was able to buy a lovely new home.

Just in time too.

Sorry! I hope this wasn't too long. Water is one of my favorite sims. I wasn't sure when he started out with nothing that he'd be able to pull all this off, but this has been what I wanted for him. All of this happened over a five sim day period. So it was like a year for him! Wow, he works fast.

Welcome to Legacy Living!

Moving on to another family...

Genesis Mellon, wife of the mayor, started Legacy Living, the town's first magazine!

Here is a glimpse of the upstairs offices. You can see Genesis working away in the back.

This is Genesis' office. It's made to be comfortable and inviting. The writers are free to gather in her office to hang out and watch a game after they get some work done.

Down stairs there are comfy chairs, a buffet, and a small shop that sells... what else? Magazines, including Legacy Living. Right now, Genesis is working hard to earn notoriety and respect. Right now she has very few employees and they make only about $2,000 a day.

How is this all possible? With Monique's hacked computer of course. ^___^

About

My photo
I'm a proudly nerdy girl who knows too much about X-Men and has stories running through her head when walking. This is really my first real attempt to share just a few of the stories that not only play in my head when walking, but play out when I'm playing my sims. I hope you enjoy. ^___^
